By the A.M. Costa Rica staff
Dallas-based Tridius Technologies, a technology consulting firm specializing in developing software in the Microsoft Stack, opened a branch on the 11th floor of the Sabana Business Center, in San José Province. As the new location has begun the local team expansion is in process. "Creating a world-class nearshore development team has always been part of our long-range plans," Matthew Ramsey, Tridius President and CEO said. "By expanding to Costa Rica, our clients can maximize their investment, tap into best-in-class resources, and execute projects in parallel time zones."
According to the firm, San José was chosen for the firm's new location due to the city's high-level of technological talent and advancement, strong partnerships with the United States, and convenient flexible time zone.
The expansion also allows clients to access nearshore resources to maximize their investments and benefit from premier IT solutions, they said in its statement.
From an industry perspective, Tridius professionals work with mid-market companies, focusing on finance, banking, legal, accounting, healthcare, and entertainment. The firm also offers various consulting services: digital transformation, cloud strategy, application development and managed services.
Along with consulting clients the San José team will also specialize in developing word-class applications. The firm is expected to hire from 15 to 20 full-time employees by the end of 2021. Team members will be bilingual, and a local leader will educate the team to integrate them into the Tridius culture successfully. This is the second U.S. company announcing open vacancies in Costa Rica this month.

Last week the south Carolina-based Synter Resource
Group, a business process outsourcing, BPO, services to the
transportation and logistics industries, invested $250,000 to open
operations in Costa Rica.
The company chose Escazú Canton in San José Province to open its first branch in Latin America, hiring 35 employees.
“We
evaluated several other Latin American countries and always came back
to Costa Rica," Mike Daugherty, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
of Synter said. "The solid government infrastructure was a reason, in
addition to the excellent educational system and literacy rate.” According
to the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, CINDE, Synter is one of
the 330 companies that have settled in the country. Their company took
into consideration democratic stability, legal security, and human
talent as important factors in making their decisions and as part of
their strategy, they said.
The company provides initial and
ongoing training to new employees. People interested in job vacancies
can find more information by emailing crhr@synter.com.
In the third quarter of 2020, exports from international companies located in Costa Rica reached five billion dollars, a growth of 5.5% compared to 2019, according to CINDE.
Unemployment is one of the most critical issues in the country. According to the Employment Survey, from September to November 2020, of the National Institute of Statistics and Census, the unemployment rate was at 21.9%, meaning the unemployed population reached 516,000 people.
