Costa Rica staff The California-based company, Intel, as part of the commemoration of its 25 years of having started operations in the country and in tribute to Costa Rica's 200 years of independence, will hold a fireworks show made with 500 drones. The show will take place next Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. at the National Stadium, in Sabana Canton, San José Province, as part of the celebrations of the bicentennial of independence, announced the Municipality of San José. "It is a gift from Intel with a show of light, movement, color and music similar to what this company has done, with the highest technology drones, in events as important as the Tokyo Olympic Games, the Super Bowl or the St. Patrick's Day in Ireland," the municipality said. According to the municipality, drones will draw figures in the sky allusive to the 25th anniversary of Intel's presence in the country and, mainly, representative of the traditions, customs and cultural symbols that define the identity and idiosyncrasy of Costa Ricans. The show will be made possible by custom Intel software to manage flight operations from a single computer.  Intel’s anniversary in the country is only the beginning as they recently announced a $600 million investment in Costa Rica. It is expected that in the coming days, the municipality will provide information on the type of access for the public to the show, in person or virtual, due to the health emergency caused by covid-19.  Also, in celebration of the bicentennial of independence, the government enabled the Spanish Language website "200 Costa Rica” to share about the cultural activities that will take place in celebration of the 200 years of Costa Rica’s Independence Day. ----------------- How will the pandemic impact your celebrations commemorating Independence Day?
