U.S. citizen reported missingBy the A.M. Costa Rica staff Agents of the Judicial Investigation Organization are requesting help from the public to find U.S. citizen Rodney Young, who has been reported missing since Friday. According to the judicial investigators, Young, 58, has been living in the country for many years and was last seen when he left his job on Paseo Colón in La Sabana in San José. Anyone with information about this person can contact the Confidential Information Center of the Judicial Investigation Organization at 800-8000-645 or WhatsApp 8800-0645. There are bilinguals agents who can answer calls in English or Spanish. A.M. Costa Rica urges readers to share this missing person case with their contacts. This is the third case of a U.S. citizen reported missing in February. ![]() The second case was reported on Feb. 24, a U.S. citizen, born in Costa Rica, named Christian Tijerino López, 33 was missing. According to the agents, Tijerino came to Costa Rica in December to visit relatives. He was last seen on last time, between Feb. 21 and 22, near the community of Liberia in Guanacaste Province when he left his hotel driving a vehicle. On Saturday, Feb. 22, the car was found in the community of Bagaces in Guanacaste. However, there are no traces of Tijerino. The first case was reported on Feb. 16, when the judicial agents confirmed finding human bones in the area of Pérez Zeledón . After undergoing analysis they confirmed those bones are the remains of U.S. citizen Tandra Thorbeck. ![]() She was 73 years-old and known as Tandra Joy. According to the agents' report, Thorbeck has been a resident for many years in Costa Rica. She was living near the community of San Rafael in the district of Pérez Zeledón in the southern zone of the country. Her brother reported her missing, they said. The agents say the cause of Ms. Thorbeck's death is pending. One U.S. citizen, founded after 24 hours, happened in December. ![]() In that case park rangers and searchers of the Red Cross found a man surnamed Young, who had lost his way in the forest of Rincón de la Vieja National Park in Guanacaste. According to the Red Cross report, at that time, an emergency call was received about a man who was touring the park's trails. "He supposedly entered the park together with another group of tourists. However, in the afternoon, the group realized that Young was lost." Both park rangers and Red Cross rescuers carried the search operation, however, "due to bad weather conditions, the rescue operation continued until the next day," said the Red Cross. Young was found next morning near a river within the wooded area of the park. According to the Red Cross, the man was contacted by paramedics, and he was in good health conditions after spending the night in the forest. "He said he was walking on the trails and did not realize when he was lost.
