Tourist Festival in Turrialba this weekend

The Tourism Chamber of Turrialba*, in the province of Cartago, invites everyone to the Tourism Festival taking place this Saturday and Sunday, at the Tropical Agronomic Center*.
"Amongst nature, visitors will enjoy, for free, our community tourist attractions," said the Chamber in its statement.
According to the Chamber, among the activities, there will be folk dances, typical foods, souvenirs, crafts for sale, concerts of local bands, and parades.
As for tourist activities, there will be rafting tours on the Pacuare River, mountain bike tours, visits to the Botanical Garden of the community, visits to archaeological sites, and bird watching.
The activities begin at 9 a.m. The festival concludes with a free concert by the group Son de Tikizia.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Turrialba is a small city with an estimated population of 35,618. The main industries are textiles, agriculture and tourism. The Pacuare* and Reventazón Rivers* are notable for whitewater rafting, making Turrialba a mecca for the sport.
