asks for donationsfor tourism workers By the A.M. Costa Rica staff The Tourism Institute supports the campaign of food donations for employees of the tourism sector who have been affected by the pandemic. According to the institute, the donation campaign, "Three months of hope: a hand for tourism workers" has the goal of donating 200,000 meals during the next three months to families that work in tourism activities or people who have lost their employment related to tourism. In addition to the institute, the campaign also has the support of other organizations such as the Costa Rican Union of Chambers, the Costa Rican-American Chamber of Commerce, the National Chamber of Tourism, among others. The meals would be delivered to people in Guanacaste Province, through food orders that could be exchanged in restaurants located in the province. In exchange for getting the meal people will commit to providing voluntary public services to help improve their communities. ![]() This campaign was initially developed by the Reactivemos la Esperanza Foundation, which donated 100,000 meals in the communities of Huacas, La Garita, Santa Rosa, Villarreal, Brasilito, Bolsón, El Llanito, Ortega and Potrero, all in Guanacaste Province. According to the institute, the foundation is registered in the Guanacaste Chamber of Tourism and certified by the National Emergency Commission.
