Tico players appointed for Orlando Bowl football game
By the A.M. Costa Rica staff
The Costa Rica Football League, CRFL, announced the chosen four Costa Rican players that will compete in the Orlando Bowl football game between the Veterans League and Team America.
The Costa Rican players appointed to play for the Veterans League by coach Michael M. Quartey are: Jairo Sandoval, Juan Campos and Javier Cañas.
The fourth athlete, Danny Herrera was chosen to play for Team America.
"This will be an event with United States professional players. We are very proud that they take our players into account," Costa Rica Football League said in its statement.
According to the CRFL, the players were chosen based on their good performance in the Pura Vida Bowl, which took place in December 2020 between Team CRFL and Team America.
The Veterans League team is made up of NFL alumni, current NFL players and CFL scout players. Unlike their opposing team, Team America is an independent team made up of amateur players.

The Orlando Bowl will take place at Northeast Park Fields in Orlando, FL on Saturday, May 1.
The Costa Rica Football League will be livestreaming the big game on their Facebook page.
