Post offices will continue open in areas with an Orange Alert
By the A.M. Costa Rica staff
Even though the majority of businesses located in Orange Alert zones, cannot operate normally due to the restrictions imposed by the government, Correos de Costa Rica, a state-owned company for mail services and online purchases, announces the opening of its branches along the country.
According to Correos de Costa Rica, the branches will continue attending and working during normal hours from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., until July 31. However, there could be changes in the schedules depending on restrictions that the government announces in the future.
In the Orange Alert zones all branches will open during the regular schedule exclusively for the process of sending and picking up mails and packages.
In those zones, the Electronic Services Windows that offers the process of Passports, Residence Cards and Weapons Permits will remain closed. Nor will certifications of the Civil Registry be issued.
In the Yellow Alert zones, the Correos branches will open regularly and will provide all services, including passports, residency card, weapons permit and civil registry certifications.
All branches that regularly open on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. until noon, will continue attending the public as usual. Branches will have special hours of operation for elderly people. Also, small and medium-sized companies may have more personalized attention during the last two hours of each branch's regular hours.
People must carry out their procedures at branches using a mask or face shield. Otherwise people will not be able to enter the branches.
The package collection service for corporate clients and Pymexpress will be offered normally throughout the country.
Before using any Correos de Costa Rica services, it is advised to call the offices and check the hours.
The phones and addresses of the branches can be reached at the Correos de Costa Rica website.
