Police continue with the investigation of bank robbery in Tamarindo

Officers of the Ministry of Security continued the investigation to find the members of a gang who robbed the branch of the National Bank in the district of Tamarindo Beach in the province of Guanacaste.

According to the police report, at noon Friday, five armed men entered the bank and in a few minutes robbed the cash from the cashiers.

The men fled in a white sedan-type car, said a police report. A similar car was found a few minutes after the robbery on fire a few kilometers away from the bank said the police.

In addition, the monitoring department of the Tamarindo Red Cross, said that an emergency call was received, to treat people who were inside the bank at the time of the robbery.

"One person was treated for a blow to the head and other people only had nervous breakdowns," said the Red Cross monitoring department in its statement.

No client or employee was taken to the hospital, said the Red Cross.

The National Bank, through its Public Relations department, said that "the assault was carried out around noon at the Tamarindo agency. It is reported that all security processes were met and the staff and customers are safe. "

The bank reported that there is still no quantified amount of the money stolen.

The investigation includes testimonies of witnesses, bank employees, and videos recorded by security cameras, among others, said the police.

The bank said its officials were not going to provide more information so as not to interfere with the investigation.
