Plenty of Halloween parties in the city, beach or the country

By the A.M. Costa Rica staff

Hallows 'Even or Hallows' Evening, is a celebration observed in several countries today. As A.M. Costa Rica previously reported in Costa Rica are plenty of options to celebrate Halloween in the beach, in the country or in the city.

Just in case you did not read the story published last week, you may like to know that historian Nicholas Rogers in his book “Halloween: From Pagan Ritual to Party Night,” published by the early 20th century, said the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day, now known as Halloween, begins the three-day observance of the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints or hallows, martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

It is widely believed that many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain. Such festivals had pagan roots, and Samhain, itself, was Christianized as Halloween by the early church, said Rogers in his book on traditions.
