Oktoberfest starts this weekend

Oktoberfest started as a tradition in Germany but has expanded into every continent on the planet.

In Costa Rica, there is not just one Oktoberfest, but there four Oktoberfests to choose from. All of these offer the best national and imported beers, music, dishes, dances, and German folk costumes.

The first Oktoberfest is organized by the German community in Costa Rica and graduates from Humboldt College.

"Willkommen zum echten Oktoberfest! This phrase has kicked off the official Oktoberfest celebration in Munich, since 1950. In Costa Rica, we cordially invite you to share this event with your friends, have a good beer and enjoying a delicious German sausage, " said the German community in its statement.

This event is for people over 18-years-old. It starts on Saturday, at La Rumba Disco Club in the province of Heredia*. The party starts at 7 p.m. The ticket price is $11. Tickets can be purchased online on the Yapp page here.*

The second fest, is organized by the The German Academic Exchange Service, known as DAAD, also invites us to celebrate Oktoberfest, on Wednesday 25th, starting at 7 p.m. at the German Club* in Los Yoses in the province of San José. The third fest is organized by the classic Oktoberfest Costa Rica will take place at the Pedregal Center* in the province of Heredia.

According to the official statement, there will be more than 80 types of beers for sale and live music with bands such as Diesel Rock, Jalamelule, Half Tangerine, and Mustang65 among others.

The festival starts from noon on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online on the Yapp page here.*

And the fifth option is at the German Club* is hosting the last Oktoberfest of the year. Starting at noon on Friday October 4th, Saturday the 5th, Friday the 18th, and Saturday 19th.

In addition to traditional German beers, the club offers the folk food, music, and dances. The entry cost is $17.50 and includes drinks and food.
