York University offers scholarships to Costa Rican
students in Abu Dhabi

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the session will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in San José. Parra's presentation is an informative session on the advantages for Costa Rican undergraduate youth to study with a full scholarship. The offer applies to students graduating from high school this year. "The requirements to apply are a very good command of the English language and a good academic record in their secondary studies," said the ministry in its statement. According to the ministry, currently, thanks to the University of New York University and the government of the United Arab Emirates, seven Costa Ricans study there in different areas. In addition, students who have already graduated have achieved interesting job opportunities, as is the case of the former student, Cristián Muñoz, who after graduating in 2018 got a good offer with Goldman Sachs in London, said Francisco J Chacón Hernández, Costa Rican ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. According to the data provided by the ministry, Costa Rica and the United Arab Emirates have an agreement on education where Costa Ricans can study in that country. Costa Rica previously reported.  In August 2018, the United Arab Emirates opened an embassy in Costa Rica, after Juma Rashed Khamis Al-Rumaithi presented his credentials to President Carlos Alvarado. Costa Rica and the United Arab Emirates signed diplomatic relations in 2010. Over the last two years, and especially after the February 2016 visit of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the two government’s ties were strengthened. The ministry reports that the governments signed eleven international agreements in that period, among them an investment promotion and protection agreement, and an air transport agreement.
