Award-winning conductor and composer, José Serebrier will conduct two concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra, today Friday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the National Theater in San José*.


José Serebrier is a composer and conductor of Uruguayan orchestra. Grammy-winning conductor and composer he is one of most recorded classical artists in history. He has received forty-five Grammy nominations in recent years.

Serebrier has made international tours with the Russian National Orchestra, Juilliard Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, and the National Youth Orchestra of Spain, among many others.


During Serebrier's performance in Costa Rica, he will perform the Suite Antígona, by the Costa Rican composer Carlos Enrique Vargas; Carmen Symphony, by Bizet & Serebrier; Andante Cantábile and No One but the Lonely Heart, by Tchaikovsky & Serebrier, as well as Adagio and The Last Tango of Dawn, by Serebrier himself.

Tickets for the two concerts can be purchased online at the National Theater website here* or directly at the theater box office. Prices are between $10 to $43, depending on seat selection.

For students and citizens over 65 years old (with a gold citizen card), a 40% discount applies to tickets.
