Last two plays of Oedipus the King this weekend

The National Theater in the San José downtown, in a co-production with the University of Costa Rica, will present the play "Edipo Rey," directed by Luis Carlos Vasquez.
Oedipus Rex or Oedipus the King is an Athenian tragedy by Sophocles that was first performed around 429 B.C.
The story is about the people of Thebes, who are faced with a plague and desperate. The inhabitants ask for help from their king, Oedipus.
King Oedipus, very scared, worried, and nervous, consults the oracle. He learns that the epidemic is a punishment from the gods and as long as the killer of the prior king, Laius, is not found, the plague will not cease.
King Oedipus begins investigations to find the perpetrator of the crime.
The king learns that his true father is King Laius whom he killed and his mother is Jocasta, to whom he is married and with whom he has had children.
This is when King Oedipus starts confronting his life.
On Friday there are two performances, one at 8 p.m. and another at 10 p.m. Saturday there are two performances at the same times.
The price of a ticket is $17 and can be purchased at the theater box office.
