Jailed man suspected of buying
marijuana and its derived products
from the U.S.

A 28-year-old Costa Rican was arrested by officers of the Drug Control Police and is suspected of purchasing a package of marijuana and marijuana-derived products sent from the United States.

Police said they detained Mora Murillo when he was leaving the office of Correos de Costa Rica, a company that provides package international delivery services, located in Zapote District, San José Province.

Police said the box contained 770 grams of candies made with marijuana, 49 doses of marijuana, 40 grams of marijuana cocoons, ten bottles of marijuana extract oil, and other products.

Police said Murillo has no criminal record. He was taken to the cells of the Public Ministry where he was interrogated and now awaits a judge’s orders regarding pre-trial measures regarding charges of international drug trafficking.
