By the A.M. Costa Rica staff The government of Israel renewed the agreement to provide training on cybersecurity to specialists in Costa Rica. According to the Ministry of Technology, the training is a direct result of an agreement called Memorandum of Understanding Between Israel and Costa Rica. The agreement focuses on scientific and technological training on cybersecurity, granting work visas to professionals and researchers, and the training which will be given in seminars, conferences, among others. "It is an important call to action, as it manages to coordinate between the teams involved, and thus initiate collaboration as soon as possible," Oren Bar, Israel's ambassador in Costa Rica said. According to Ambassador Bar, this agreement will also open the possibilities for Costa Rica to become a hub for cybersecurity training as the Cyber Security Academies.  The agreement for training in cybersecurity was announced by the Ministry of Technology, where Bar and the Israeli Consul, Mike Driquez, were present. They were joined via virtual meeting by Amir Shalom representatives of the Department of Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Israel, Esti Pechin and Camila Edry representatives of Israeli Cybersecurity companies. "This type of agreement seeks to strengthen our country to recognize it as a digital and secure society in the coming years," Paola Vega, Minister of Technology said. According to the ministry, since 2019 the government of Israel has provided training in cybersecurity to Costa Rican specialists. -------------------------- What other type of training could the government of Israel provide in Costa Rica?
