Il Divo will preform in March

The Il Divo opera singers quartet will be performing in Costa Rica, as part of their Timeless Encore tour, on Tuesday, March 24, at Parque Viva amphitheater in Alajuela.
In his unique concert in the country, the top singers, Urs Bühler from Switzerland, Carlos Marín from Spain, David Miller from the U.S. and Sébastien Izambard from France, will be accompanied by the music of the National Philharmonic Orchestra.
According to the information provided by the group's official webpage, Il Divo group was created in 2003 and promoted by music producer Simon Cowell for the label Syco Music.
As of 2018, the group has released ten albums: Il Divo (2004), Ancora (2005), Siempre (2006), The Promise (2008), Wicked Game (2011), A Musical Affair (2013), Love & Passion ( 2015) and Timeless (2018); a compilation album The Greatest Hits (2012); special Christmas songs album The Christmas Collection (2005).
Two other albums, An Evening with Il Divo: Live in Barcelona (2009) and Live in Japan (2014), presented recordings of live concerts.
Il Divo has sold well over 30 million copies of its albums worldwide. With 160 certified gold and platinum hits in 35 countries, it pioneered the genre of operatic pop, or "popera", in classical crossover music.
The tickets of the concert is Costa Rica, between $100 to $170, can be purchased at Eticket.cr site.

Another renowned international musician who will perform in Costa Rica this weekend is the U.S. saxophonist Greg Osby.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Osby studied at Howard University, then at the Berklee College of Music, said his introduction in his official web site.
Osby's main instrument is the alto saxophone but he occasionally plays soprano saxophone as well. He began recording albums under his name for JMT Records in the 1980s.
In Costa Rica, Osby will present himself as a guest artist at the Costa Rican Jazz Festival, hosted by the National Museum.
Osby's music can be viewed on his YouTube channel.
The dates of the concerts are:
- Today Friday, at 7 p.m. in Gastro Pub, along with Maple Quartet, Ensamble and Riverside Collective.
- Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Cloromiro Picado Auditorium at the National University in Heredia. He will play along with Lenin Izaguirre, Ismael Hernández and Josh Quinlan.
- Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Steinworth Amphitheater in San Jose downtown. The musician will play together, Jazz Workshop, Josh Quinlan and the Big Band Orchestra.

Roosevelt University Jazz All-Stars will perform at
seven locations in the country from Feb. 11 to 15.
According to the organizers, the three young
musicians, Elio Wijaya on piano, Alex Frazzetto on
bass and Josh Hill on drums, "have prepared a
special program with the highest standards of jazz
music and melodies of American songs, as well as
special arrangements of Costa Rican folk songs. "
The presentations will be at facilities of the Costa Rican North American
Cultural Center as follow:
- Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11:30 a.m. at the center's
building in Heredia. Then at 3:30 p.m. at the
center's building in Alajuela.
- Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at the center's
building in San Pedro, San José. Then at 8 p.m. in
the center's building in Barrio Amón in San José.
- Thursday Feb. 13, at 11:30 a.m. at the American
Corner, Limón.
- Friday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m. at the House of Culture
in Puerto Viejo, Limón.
- The last presentation will be on Saturday, Feb.
15, at 7 p.m. at Riverside Cafe, in San Jose.

Also in February the singer Debi Nova will give two
concerts at the National Theater in San
José.
Deborah Nowalski Kader, better known as Debi Nova,
is a Costa Rican singer-songwriter who lives in Los
Angeles.
The singer of Polish Jewish descent has been
nominated for a Grammy six times. In 2005 the dance
song, "One Rhythm," which reached number one on the
U.S. Dance Club Songs chart, also was featured on
the EA FIFA video game.
She has collaborated with artists including Boney
James, Mark Ronson, Q-Tip, Sérgio Mendes, the Black
Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, Ricky Martin and Franco De
Vita, among others.
The two concerts will be Feb. 14 and 15, both at 8
p.m. at the theater. Ticket prices are between $30
and $60. They can be purchased at the theater box
office or on its website.
Another international leading singer that will
perform in the country is Karol G. The Colombian
reggaeton singer and songwriter, will preforming
Feb. 29 at the Picnic Festival that will take place
at Pedregal Events Center
in Heredia.
The singer has received awards such as one from the
2019 American Society of Composers, Authors, and
Publishers in the category of the best singer.
This year she was also nominated by Billboard Latin
Music Awards as best new artist of the year, best
Latin songs artist of the year, and best female top
Latin albums artist of the year.
Karol G, who name when not performing is Carolina
Giraldo Navarro, comes to the country as part of the
promotion of her album “Tusa,” the same name as the
song she sings with singer Nicki Minaj.

The Picnic Festival will present the fifth edition
with 15 local singers and 12 international
performers, such as Tropical Minds, Zion and Lennox,
Bacilos, among others, in the 24-hour continuous
musical show.
Ticket prices are between $70 to $150, can be

Another international band that will perform in
Costa Rica is the Backstreet Boys as part of the DNA
World Tour. The event is scheduled for Feb. 28, at Parque Viva.
Backstreet Boys is an American vocal pop music group
formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993. The original
group members' singers AJ McLean, Howie Dorough,
Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell
will perform in Costa Rica.
Tickets are priced between $42 to $210, depending on
the choice of seats. Tickets are on sale at Boleteria.cr
Another highly anticipated show will be held March
7, when for the first time six leading rock stars,
P. Shortino of Quiet Riot, Bobby Kimball of Toto,
Alex Ligertwood of Santana, Fran Cosmo of Boston,
Jimy Sohns of Shadows of the Knight, and D. Tufano
of Buckinghams will give a concert in Costa Rica.
The singers will perform at Parque Viva amphitheater
in Alajuela as part of their Rockpack Festival tour.
"Original leader singers of great bands of the 70s
and 80s, like Quiet Riot, Toto, Santana and Boston
will perform the hits with their original singers,"
said the Hit-After-Hit firm in charge of the
festival organization. "It will be almost two hours
of singing hit after hit."
According to the organizers, fans of classic rock
will enjoy the greatest hits as “Cum on Feel the
Noize,” “Hold the Line,” “Hold On,” “More Than A
Feeling,” among many more.
Ticket prices vary between $34 to $100, depending on
the location to the stage.
The concert starts at 6 p.m., but the doors to the
amphitheater will be open three hours before.

Another rock band performance in Costa Rica will be
Guns N ’Roses March 18 at Saprissa Stadium in Tibás
as part of its Not in This Lifetime tour.
Ticket prices are between $55 to $115, depending on
the proximity to the stage, and they can be
purchased at Eticket.cr
This will be the second concert that the band gives
in the country. The first concert of vocalist Axl
Rose, lead guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan,
and drummer Steven Adler was in November 2016.
"It will be a unique opportunity for fans to be
closer to the band and feel the power of their music
more intensely," said Mercury Concerts, which is
responsible for bringing the band to the country.
The band's hits began in 1987 with the release of
their debut album “Appetite for Destruction.”
Another international classic rock band that will be
performing in Costa Rica is KISS.
The musicians are Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric
Singer and Tommy Thayer, and concert tickets are on
sale for the only performance that the iconic KISS
band will give in Costa Rica. That will be April 28,
at National Stadium.
The band will offer VIP meet-and-greet experiences,
for which tickets can be purchased through the site
Kissonline.com.
The other ticket options will be available at Eticketcr site.
Tickets will have different prices, depending on the
area of the stadium, from $50 to $175.
