The government through the Tourism Institute presented a stand this week at the World Travel Market in London, England.

According to the institute, the goal of the Costa Rica booth is "to be an oasis of tranquility in international tourist fairs where thousands of buyers and sellers meet to make future business."

The institute stand is built in a space of 300 square meters, with oriented strand boards made with wood chips or wood debris.

At the stand, the representatives of the institute offers coffee, cotton candy and slush to the visitors.

Also as the main attraction, the new stand includes a 4 x 4-meter room called the magic room, which with mirrors, foliage, native flowers of Costa Rica, LED lights and sounds evoke and transports those who visit it to the rain forest, said the institute.

"With this new design, we show both the interaction in social networks by creating this infinite room, as well as the memorable experiences . . . ," said María Amalia Revelo, minister of Tourism. "The stand is congruent with international advertising campaign we announced in September, focused on inviting the search for balance, recharging energies and getting excited."

The stand also includes 38 work tables for private entrepreneurs who accompany the institute in this tourist fair.

According to the institute, be part of an international tourism fair helps to position the country as a destination in the American and European markets, for increasing tourist arrivals.

According to data provided by the institute, based on information from the General Directorate of Migration, from January to September, tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom grew 4.2% compared to the same period of 2018.

In this period 59,134 British tourists arrived. England is the main European marketing in importance for tourism.

The stay of visitors to the United Kingdom is estimated at 14.6 nights, and the British tourist spends $ 121.8 per day.

British tourists mostly have a college education and half are young people under 35 years of age, the institute said.
