Costa Rica staff The BMW Fashion Week San José will take place at the InterContinental Hotel in Escaz ú May 21 to 23. According to Leonora Jiménez, director of Fashion Week, in this new edition an alliance has been created with the luxury car company BMW, as the main sponsor. "One of our main approaches for this year is to improve international alliances that expose our local producers and use fashion to position Costa Rica," Jiménez said. The event will feature more than 45 designers, both local and international and more than 30 models, said an announcement. The goal of Fashion Week is to promote the commercialization of Latin American producers. The format will be similar to the previous edition with four blocks divided over two days. This year there will be six rooms inside the hotel specifically for the area in which the designers will exhibit, the organizers said. According to the organizers, this year the Fashion Week will also be supported with alliances with public entities to promote the concept and graphic line about Costa Rica, its nature, biodiversity, and leadership in sustainable enterprises. Also in this edition, a new concept will be offered for after parties, parallel activities at the Multiplaza Shopping Center and other points of the capital, including the San José Centro, as well as trunk shows with national and international designers. Fashion Week in Costa Rica, started seven years ago as one of the most important events in Latin America in the textile and fashion design industry. "Today, Fashion Week San José is one of the five most important fashion events in Latin America and seeks to show that Costa Rica is a country with a solid development that sets the tone at the Latin American level in terms of sustainability and projects with purpose, " said the organizers in its statement. ------------------------------ What another type of industry could also be promoted in Costa Rica?
