European Union donates $220,000-plus to public education

The European Union donated on Thursday 200,000 euros, about $220,450, to the Ministry of Public Education for the development of the first phase of software to allow students to complete the school year online registration process.
According to the ministry, the donation was made through an agreement between the European Union and a private firms called Edutech.
Edu-Tech will be in charge of creating software that will allow students from elementary schools and high schools to make their enrollment every year.
Also, the software will alert school principals when a student has not completed the enrollment process. This will allow authorities to detect a possible case of a school drop-out quickly, the ministry said.
Also, the software will help to speed up the process of managing resources to schools, as well as quick up the communication between schools with the ministry, he announcement said.
The ministry said that it had developed another piece of software to make more manageable all administrative processes in schools. This new software will be also implemented in each school with resources donated by the European Union.
