By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Police from the Escazu Canton
station, in San José Province, responded to
an emergency call about people arriving by
car and entering a house in a seemingly
suspicious way in the middle of the night.
According to the police report, officers arrived at the house located in San Rafael District. They realized that the main front door was open and there were no people inside or around. From the porch, officers allegedly saw several potted marijuana plants inside the house, police said. Following the guidelines in a drug case, the support of Drug Control Police agents was requested, who found several plants inside the house. ![]() The agents found in the house 52 marijuana plants measured between 1.02 and 1.70 meters. Also, 695 grams of chopped marijuana was found. The drugs were seized as evidence but no suspects were detained. The agents will continue with the investigation until they find those suspected of growing the plants inside the house. Judicial agents call on the population to report any suspicion of drug growing to the confidential line 800-8000-645, where there are bilingual agents who can answer calls in English or Spanish. ------------------------------ What have you heard of expats growing marijuana at their homes in your community?
