Deadline set to seek
free cementBy the A.M. Costa Rica staff Community organizations that need cement for the construction of projects have time to request this free material from the Ministry of Public Works until March 6. According to the ministry, the cement will be delivered free for projects under construction in the communities, such as ramps, sidewalks, parks, communal halls, schools and churches, among others. Those interested in requesting the cement should contact the department of Aid for Communities, where three telephone lines were enabled, 2523-2601, 2523-2602 and 2523-2660. That also is where more information can be obtained. The delivery of the cement is subject to the availability of the material and the budget of the ministry, therefore the receipt of the documents is the first step for the application, said the ministry. The ministry will give cement delivery priority to organizations such as municipalities, social protection boards, boards of education, school administrative boards, public organizations for community development and associations dedicated to the improvement of roads, among others. To be a beneficiary of the cement donation some of the requirements are: - Submit the appropriate form. - Add a letter requesting the donation. - Provide a photocopy of the ID of the person requesting the donation, or the cédula jurídica in case the requestor is a communal association or an organization. - Copy of certification of the property in the case of private property where construction work will be developed. - In the case of new constructions, photocopies of the blueprints must be added. The ministry noted that it does not collect money for the processing of documents or cement donations delivery. The authorities asked people to avoid giving money to third parties and avoid scams. ------------------------------ Have you heard about any project that use donated cement in your community?
