Costa Rican resort recognized as
one
of the world's health security place, says report By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Forbes Travel Guide agency in conjunction with Sharecare, the digital health company announced that Drake Bray Getaway Resort, located in the Osa Peninsula, was recognized as one of the Security Verified label places. According to the agency the Sharecare's software-as-a-service, SAAS, establishes a global baseline for health security, requiring hotels to verify their health protocols on an ongoing basis across more than 360 expert-validated standards. The verification details a property's real-time health security status across health and hygiene protocols, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, the guest experience, and health safety communication with guests and employees, the agency said in its statement. Addressing the critical need to establish confidence with guests and travel planners in the age of covid-19 and beyond, the security verification comes with a seal of approval for hotels to display on their websites and on-property. The recognition also includes hotels and resorts from the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Philippines, Australia, England, Canada, Greece, Mexico, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Cayman Islands. Forbes Travel Guide is a global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas. In Costa Rica, the Tourism Institute recognized almost 200 tourism companies, associations, and tourism chambers as Safe Travels locations. ![]() The seal is free for all companies committed to the fight against covid-19 by allowing tourists to recognize that the place follows the sanitizing guidelines for the care of visitors, the institute said. Companies that have the seal are such as hotels, travel agencies, water transport, wellness tourism, land transport, thematic parks, tour operators, vehicle rentals, congress and convention facilities, adventure tourism companies, among many others. Also, more chambers and associations of tourism are recognized with the seal, such as the National Association of Congresses and Conventions, the Limón Chamber of Commerce, Monteverde Chamber of Tourism, Puntarenas Chamber of Tourism, the Costa Rican Association of Tour Operators, the Association for the Development of Commerce and Tourism of La Cruz in Guanacaste, among others. These organizations can also grant the seal to their affiliates to expand this credit to the largest number of companies, as long as they meet the health guidelines. To obtain the seal, companies or entrepreneurs must fill out the form published on the institute's website. Then, representatives of the institute would visit the company to verify compliance with the sanitary guidelines. According to the institute, in addition to Costa Rica, countries such as Panama, Aruba, Portugal, Dubai, Paris, Madrid, Mexico; among many others, use the Safe Travels Seal. --------------------------- What else could the institute do to support entrepreneurs in the tourism sector during the pandemic?
