By the A.M. Costa Rica staff April 30 is the deadline for filing the report ”Registro de Transparencia y Beneficiarios Finales”, or in English “transparency and final beneficiaries register,” also known as RTFB. However, the RTFB report will be generated automatically each year. In other words, the last shareholder's statement submitted in September 2020, will be used as official each year. It is not necessary to make the same report every year. The only reason to present a new report (after the original one presented first), is if any data has changed. Companies which have already made the RTBF report, must update information (about the company or make corrections on the previous report). They will only be able to present the changes this month. ![]() The RTBF report must be made by whoever has representation in a company or an authorized person, who has a power of attorney duly registered by a notary public on the Central Bank platform. More information about this declaration can be reached at the Ministry of Finance website by clicking under the “RTBF” tab. In September 2020, A.M. Costa Rica posted the article “Positive legal and tax news for a change!'' by Garland Baker, which provided more detailed information about this type of report. ---------------------- What have you heard about expats facing problems in complying with all the different reports required by the Ministry of Finance?
