Costa Rica staff Women entrepreneurs in the country interested in creating business ideas in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math, STEM, have a new program to help them develop their businesses. The program Constelar, developed by the Costa Rica- USA Foundation for Cooperation, CRUSA, seeks to promote the participation of women in entrepreneurship in STEM areas in Costa Rica. The program was developed in collaboration with specialists from companies from the Impact Hub of Costa Rica and Spyre Group, an organization from Israel. ![]() The women who participate in this program will receive help and training such as: 1. Academy Clubs: A community of women in STEM through clubs in universities in the country. 2. Incubation Program: Business support for the development of business ideas through an educational program with specialized mentors and advisors, with the possibility of getting funds to develop their business. 3. Participate in the National STEM Event, which will be held in September. 4. Platform to get in contact with the community of women in STEM. The CRUSA Foundation promotes Costa Rica's transition towards a green, inclusive and innovative economy. To achieve this goal for the country it is essential to open and promote the insertion of women in this professional field, the organization said in its statement. "We joined teams with international experts and local partners to design a program that would provide women with professional and practical tools to successfully enter themselves into the national and international ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation," Flora Montealegre, Delegate of the Foundation said. "Constelar is at the service of women entrepreneurs in the country. We urge women of every sector to apply to this program and become the first stars of this entrepreneurial constellation." Currently, the program opens a call to receive business ideas in the STEM areas. The deadline to participate is July 4.
