call for be a responsible tourist

Costa Rica staff The entry by people to unauthorized areas within the national parks, which are usually roads within the primary forest, represent a high danger and risk to the physical integrity of the person due to the lack of security measures for the tourist, such as the lack of basic services and the risk of animal attack, said the Tourism Institute and the National System of Conservation Areas. Tourist only can use the official's entry to national parks. The agencies said as they called for tourists, to make tourism with responsibility through the campaign called “Responsible Tourist”. Both institutions manage tourism activity and have the role of guaranteeing the conservation of ecosystem resources and visitor safety, said the conservation agency knows as SINAC in its statement. "We must be responsible, know the regulations and respect the official signs on these places, so the integrity of the tourist will not be exposed, nor of the elements of biodiversity that protect each protected wild area," said Grettel Vega of SINAC. According to the agency, illegal trails have been found that cause great damage to the ecosystem, since it destroy flor and, are sources of contamination, among other adverse effects on the environment. The SINAC already has established routes within the protected wild areas, which are made to damage as little as possible to the ecosystem of the place. Authorities called on tourists to comply with regulations and also book visits to the parks only with duly accredited tour guides. According to statistics from the Red Cross, in 2018 its staffers responded to 139 emergencies of people lost in mountains. During this year, 118 emergencies have already been reported. Authorities seek to reduce the number of emergencies, giving the following recommendations: - If you travel with a tour guide, verify that he/she has the certifications of the institute. - When visiting a national park or other destination, be sure to do so by the official entry. - If you are inside a national park, follow the recommendations of park rangers properly identified. - If you cannot find the official entry, ask local people to guide you. - Remember to bring appropriate clothes and other implements to make your trip more pleasant. Authorities called on tourists to investigate the tour operators' services to be sure all complete with the rules.
