Costa Rica staff The Bangalore, India- based company, Mphasis, is an Information Technology (IT) solutions provider specializing in cloud and cognitive services, announced the setting up of a new center in the country. According to the firm, as part of a large global deal in the Hi-tech industry, two more centers will open in Mexico and Taiwan to accommodate over 800 people that will serve their existing Hi-tech clients. The services offered out from Costa Rica would be large-scale operations in the areas of application development, support, testing, operations, and financial analysis. The new branch will provide nearshore services to other strategic customers both in the aforementioned areas as well as in additional functional areas. "In recent years, Mphasis has seen tremendous growth in its Hi-tech business driven by capability complemented with superior customer experience offered to our clients," Nitin Rakesh, Mphasis Chief Executive Officer said. According to Rakesh, in a direction to further improve the firm support to their clients, they have been investing not only in building but also in increasing geographical coverage in regions that are strategic such as Mexico, Costa Rica, and Taiwan. "We at Mphasis are excited with the expansion of our footprint in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Taiwan as this helps us expand the talent pool we can access and allows us to work with the best of engineering talent irrespective of location. Our clients will now have access to both nearshore support and engineering talent," said Elango R, President, North America - New Client Acquisition, Mphasis. "Digital transformation is part of our landscape, and more so the people who drive it. We are expanding our services and solutions to allow our customers to innovate and incorporate next-gen technologies." On Wednesday, the India-based company CSS Corp, a leading Information Technologies (IT) services and technical support firm opened 500 new jobs to their current Costa Rican operations, which employ more than 860 people. "Costa Rica offers us the platform for technological convergence and human talent trained to respond to the new demands of Industry 4.0. Costa Rica's value proposition of people, planet, and prosperity adequately complement the development strategy that our company advances globally," Jayagopi Andhoor, CSS Corp Country Manager and Vice President said. Last year, the company announced that it had hired 100 additional employees due to the company expanding its operations in the next six months. The company will seek new hires with B2+ English language skills, a minimum of one year of experience in technical support, and TAC/business security. Digital technologies and services that converge with technological manufacturing companies to develop the kind of integrated solutions that the industry needs and that, in 2020, reached service exports close to US $5 billion, according to the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, CINDE.
