for companies in the tourism sector

On Thursday, the Tourism Institute announced the authorization of $15 million in non-reimbursable funds for companies in the tourism sector.

According to the institute, the money will be given to companies classified as small and medium, after obtaining approval to receive these funds.

The goal of the bond is for companies to make salary payments to their employees. "Those who qualify will receive a bonus to pay a portion of their employees' wages," the institute said in its statement. "The company will fill in the difference (to complete the employee's salary) and must commit to not fire them."

According to the institute, the plan is to benefit at least 5,000 companies and thereby pay wages to approximately 30,000 employees.

"The $15 million funds will serve as a subsidy to businesses as we gradually and safely open up to domestic and foreign tourism," said Gustavo Segura, Minister of Tourism.

However, the aid will be given to selected companies out of the total of applicants, in addition to meeting the following requirements requirements:

- Be classified as a micro, small or medium business.

- Have a Tourist Declaration or Certificate of Tourist Sustainability.

- In the case of a tourist guide or tourism carrier, you must be registered in the registry of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute.

People interested in requesting the aid voucher can find more information by calling the Institute of Tourism phone line 506 2299-5800 or by emailing info@visitcostarica.com. For more information call Casa Presidential 506 2207-9100 or email info@presidencia.go.cr
