The U.S. Embassy announced changes to visa procedures ahead of the launch of a new visa website on September 23, 2024.

According to the embassy, all nonimmigrant visa interview appointments remain valid for those interviews scheduled on or before September 12, 2024. "You may continue to access your account at ustraveldocs.com to review your appointment details and contact customer service as necessary," the diplomatic mission added.

In the case of visa interviews scheduled between September 13-September 20, 2024 no o further action is required, but the applicant will no longer have access to the ustraveldocs.com account after September 12.

This means the individual will not be able to cancel or reschedule the appointment from September 13-22 and will have no access to customer service.

"You should print your appointment confirmation letter before September 13 and we strongly encourage you to attend your visa interview if possible," they said. If the person fails to appear for the scheduled interview on or after September 23, should request instructions on rescheduling the appointment.

If the interview is scheduled for September 23, 2024, or later: No further action is required, but the applicant will no longer have access to ustraveldocs.com account after September 12. This means the individual will not be able to cancel or reschedule the appointment from September 13-22 and will have no access to customer service.

Beginning September 23, there will be an updated website for the new visa services and updated information on creating a new user account.

The applicant will need to create this new account to review the account information, make changes, submit requests, or contact customer service.

"Print your appointment confirmation letter before September 13 in case you experience technical issues in creating your new account," the embassy warned.

In the case of applicants who have paid the visa application fee but have not scheduled an interview, the embassy " strongly encourages you to schedule a visa appointment as soon as possible, and read the information provided above based on your interview date".

It is important that the individual log in to the profile and associate the payment by entering the payment receipt number before September 4, 2024. "Failure to complete this action by the said date may result in potential delays and/or complications in your scheduling process," they added.

For those who have not paid the visa fee and are planning to travel to the United States after the new visa website service is enabled, they may wait until after September 22 to begin the nonimmigrant visa process.

On September 23, the new visa appointment website will go live. Fee payments, appointment scheduling, and customer services will be available. New document drop-off and pickup locations will be available as well.
