Tourism business entrepreneurs receive $379,409 in non-reimbursable funds from the Rural Motor Program of the Rural Development Institute.
According to the institute, there will be 47 companies or entrepreneurs dedicated to tourism that will receive approximately $8,000 each. Among these are community associations and cooperatives, foundations and entrepreneurs from five regions of the country.
The goal of the program is for the resources to be used to reactivate tourist activity, which is one of the main economic activities in rural areas, the institute said.
The plan also requires the winners to present to the institute the respective liquidations of expenses made with the aid, as proof of how the funds were used.
The list of winning organizations for the non-reimbursable funds was published on the website for the Rural Motor Program of the Institute.
This is the second program to help entrepreneurs in this past month. In June the National Institute of Women announced $1,581,000 in non-reimbursable grants for women entrepreneurs.
