By the A.M. Costa Rica staff

Online tickets for the
Tortuguero National Park, can be purchased via the website of the National System of Conservation Areas, SINAC.

According to SINAC, the sale of tickets and reservations online is a tool to also manage the flow of visitors, and control the number of people entering the park. This will also reduce the negative impact that visitors could have on ecosystems.

Tortuguero Park is the fourth national park that allows people to reserve the entrance ticket online. The system allows the purchase of tickets for Poas Volcano National Park, Chirripo National Park, and San Lucas Island National Park.

The price of the tickets varies between ¢500 colones to USD $12 per person.

The park is located on the Caribbean Coast in Limón Province. It covers an area of 77,032 acres (31,174 ha) with a large variety of biological diversity due to the existence within the reserve of 11 different habitats, including rainforests, mangrove forests, swamps, beaches, and lagoons.

A tutorial on how to buy tickets can be found on Youtube in the SINAC YouTube Channel.

Las week, the Ministry of the Environment announced the investment of $1,864,371 in the new center for the park rangers.
