The two leading U.S. lotteries combined jackpots, Mega Millions® and Powerball®, now stand at an estimated $1.7 billion for this weekend's drawings.

The first game, Mega Millions, reached an estimated at
$977 million prize (or $461.0 million cash) for tonight's drawing on Friday, March 22, announced the lottery company in its statement.

Mega Millions tickets are available for purchase on the lottery website for those living in the U.S.

Those living abroad, from any nationality, can play Mega Millions or any of the other international lotteries on The Lotter website.

The jackpot keeps growing after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Tuesday, March 19,  with the white balls 24, 46, 49, 62 and 66. These numbers plus the gold Mega Ball 7 and the Mega Plier 2X.

"It’s just the sixth time in the game’s nearly 22-year history that the jackpot has reached this level; only five jackpots exceeding $1 billion have been higher," the company added.

Tonight's drawing will be conducted as usual at the WSB-TV studio in Atlanta, Georgia, at 11 p.m. ET. Soon afterward, the draw video will be available on the Mega Millions website.

Mega Millions tickets cost about $2 per play. Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) - or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick.

Players win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. Also, there are a total of nine ways to win a prize in this lottery, ranging from the jackpot down to $2.

Mega Millions jackpot winner will have the choice of a Cash Option or an Annual Payout. Annuity option: Provides for an initial annual payment followed by 29 annual payments.

The second game for this weekend is the Powerball, which now stands at an estimated $750 million ( or cash value of $360.8 million) for the next drawing that will be held tomorrow Saturday, March 23.

The Powerball tickets are available for purchase for those living in the U.S. on its website.

Those living abroad, from any nationality, can play Powerball or any of the other international lotteries on The Lotter website.

The Powerball jackpot rolled after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Wednesday, March 20,  with the white balls 13, 22, 27, 54 and 66. Plus the red Powerball 9 and the Power Play multiplier 2X.

"Despite the jackpot evading players, the drawing produced more than 1.2 million winning tickets nationwide," said the lottery company in its statement.

Powerball drawings are broadcast live at 11 p.m. ET from the State of Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Drawings are also available on Powerball.com.

Powerball costs about $2 per play. To play, people should select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, then select one number between 1 and 26 for the red

People can choose the numbers on a play slip or let the lottery terminal randomly pick the numbers.

Powerball jackpot grows until it is won. Players win a prize by matching one of the 9 ways to win. The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball.

Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump-sum payment. Both advertised prize options are before federal and jurisdictional taxes.
