Many amusing
activities are happening this weekend,
including concerts, plays, festivals,
cultural events and shows among many others. Kindly inform us of any

On Friday
The Espressivo Theater, in San José, presents "A Christmas Carol," based on the novella by Charles Dickens. On Friday, the play starts at 8 p.m. The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 and are available on the theater's website.
On Saturday
The Year's End Festival, organized by the Municipality of San José, will be held at Sabana Metropolitan Central Park in San José. Attendees can enjoy a market featuring products made by local entrepreneurs, a playground for children, play areas for pets, food trucks, dancing, live music, and a concert with over seven tropical music bands. This pet-friendly event offers free admission and begins at 9 a.m.
On
Sunday
The Guanacaste Township Orchestra will perform a Christmas concert at the Municipality Amphitheater. The free and pet-friendly show starts at 4 p.m.
The Lucho Barahona Theater in downtown San José is now showing "The Grinch" inspired by the iconic character of the 1957 children's book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" created by children's author and cartoonist Dr. Seuss. The performance begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 at the theater box office.
This
weekend
The Zapote
Bullfighting Show will be held at
the Plaza de Toros in Zapote Canton,
San José. The event will feature
tie-down roping, bareback bull riding,
barrel racing, and bull chasing, among
other activities. Visitors can also
enjoy food trucks and games at the
venue. Shows are scheduled for 3 p.m.
and 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on local TV
channels 8 and 13. Tickets at $20 are
available at the venue box office.
The Pedregal
Bullfighting Show will be held at the Pedregal
Events Center in Heredia. The event will
feature tie-down roping, bareback bull
riding, barrel racing, and bull chasing,
among other activities. Visitors can
also enjoy food trucks and games at the
venue. Shows are scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
and 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on local TV
channels 6 and 7. Tickets at $16 are
available at the venue box office.
The Torres Theater in downtown San José is now showing "Christmas Dreams," a play for kids. It's about a depressed, lonely man who despises Christmas. However, everything changes one Christmas Eve night when he is visited by many extraordinary creatures. On Friday and Saturday, the show starts at 8 p.m. On Sunday, it begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the theater box office.
The Parque de Diversiones Christmas Festival in La Uruca, San José. The amusement park presents its holiday festival including parades, live music, dance shows, a Santa show, and a fireworks show. There are also more than 17 rides such as roller coasters, carousels, twists and bumper cars among many others. Enjoy their food court zone and picnic area. The park opens at 9 a.m. Tickets are $20 available at the park box office.
The Lucho Barahona
Theater in downtown San
José is now showing "The Mummy," a funny
performance with the comedian characters
Juan Vainas and Chibolo. The play, based on a
Halloween story, seeks to answer the
following question: what would you do if
you discovered a sarcophagus buried in your
backyard? Friday and
Saturday, the performance starts at 8
p.m. Sunday's show begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $15 at the theater box
office.
"Suegras Barbaras," or "Crazy Mothers-in-Law," is a comedy performance playing in the Triciclo Theater, in downtown San José. It is a comedy about a couple on vacation who, due to an unexpected circumstance, must travel with their mother-in-law. On Friday and Saturday, the show starts at 8 p.m. On Sunday, the comedy begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at the theater box office.
Libertad Park Club in Desamparados in San José presents activities for teenagers such as painting, dance, music, sports and arts. The free and pet-friendly event begins at 9 a.m.
Tours are available at Kids Saving the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary in Quepos Beach, Puntarenas. The non-profit organization is home to nearly 50 animals that cannot be released back into the wild. Ticket is $10. Make reservations by emailing Chip@kstr.org or calling 8827-8243.

Pirata Beach Club in
Puntarenas City, Puntarenas. Doors
open at 8 a.m. Ticket is $16.
Free
swimming, Zumba, aerobics, sports
games, fitness and diving are among
many other courses at Ojo de
Agua Water Park in
San Antonio Belen, Heredia. The club
includes a parking area, restaurant,
several swimming pools for adults and
a swimming pool area for children, a
playground, tennis areas, basketball
areas and a soccer field. The place
opens at 7:30 a.m. Ticket is $3.
Go ride
hopping at the Parque
de Diversiones in

Conservation Area invites
visitors to both the Santa Rosa and
the Horizon Experimental
Forest Station in Guanacaste. Tickets
are available on the organization's

Diquis
Museum in
Palmar Sur, Osa, Puntarenas, offers
walking tours through the
archaeological zone known as Finca
Sitio 6. Tours are from 8 a.m. to 2
p.m. Ticket is $7 and must be paid by
credit or debit card.
The Art
Museum in
downtown La Sabana, San José, presents
private collections of Latin American
artists. The museum is open from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticket is $15.
Gold Museum in downtown San José presents an exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Ticket is $15.
