There are a lot of
Holiday celebrations to go around this
December, so here's a list of festive
events and activities to enjoy on the
last weekend before Christmas.

Los
Tenores Opera Singers' Ensemble, will
present the Symphonic
Fantasy
Concert
inspired by Disney film soundtracks.
The event will begin at 8 p.m. at the Ande Convention
Center in Heredia.
Tickets ranging
from $50 to $85 are available on the
Eticket website. The
Sura Choir will perform a Christmas
concert at the Juan Santamaría
Museum
in Alajuela. The free show starts at 3 p.m.

The Ministry of Culture hosts a
Christmas Ox Parade in San José's
Goicoechea canton. The culturally
significant event begins at the Farmer's Market and continues through Guadalupe's
main streets, culminating in a folk
music concert at the Municipality's
facilities. The free and
pet-friendly event starts at 10
a.m. The Guanacaste Township Orchestra
will perform a Christmas concert at
the Upala Canton
Municipality Amphitheater. The free and
pet-friendly show starts at 7 p.m. The Annual Christmas Dance Show
starring Coppelia Ballet Academy
will take place at the National Cultural
Center at San José's Ministry of Culture
building. The event starts at 4 p.m.
Tickets cost $22 and are available
at the theater box office.
This
weekend
Christmas Light Show at Marina Pez Vela in Quepos Beach, Puntarenas. The
show includes the lighting of the
Christmas tree and Christmas carols.
The free show
starts at 7 p.m. The Children's Museum in downtown San José presents the
Santa Claus Village, Christmas
Carols and many activities for kids starting
at 9 a.m. Then, Christmas Lights
Show from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets
are $3 and available at the museum
box office.
The Parque de Diversiones Christmas Festival in La Uruca, San José. The amusement park presents its holiday festival including parades, live music, dance shows, a Santa show, and a fireworks show. There are also more than 17 rides such as roller coasters, carousels, twists and bumper cars among many others. Enjoy their food court zone and picnic area. The park opens at 9 a.m. Tickets are $20 available at the park box office.
The Espressivo Theater, in San José, presents "A Christmas Carol," based on the novella by Charles Dickens. On Friday, the play starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, it starts at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. On Sunday, the program starts at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 and available on the theater website.
The Torres Theater in downtown San
José is now showing "Christmas Dreams,"
a play for kids. It's about a depressed,
lonely man who despises Christmas.
However, everything changes one
Christmas Eve night when he is visited
by a bunch of extraordinary creatures.
The performance starts at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $15 at the theater box
office.
The Christmas play
"On the Cypress Tree Branches," features Danzay
and Teatralia companies at the National Theater in San José. The
ballet portrays the narrative of
Christmas ornaments living on a
Christmas tree come to life. The show
begins at 8 p.m. on Friday. On Sunday,
the two shows begin at 11 a.m. and 5
p.m. Tickets range in
price from $30 to $80 and are
available at the theater box office or
online.
