activities are happening this weekend,
including concerts, plays, festivals,

On Friday
The National
Symphony Orchestra will perform a
classical music concert with pieces by
Mozart, Strauss, and Bartók at the Catholic Church
in San Joaquin de Flores Canton, Heredia. The
free-to-enter performance begins at 7
p.m.
The Juan Santamaría
Museum in Alajuela hosts
the University Cultural Festival, which
includes dance, music, and stage shows.
The
free-entry event begins at 6 p.m.
The Stone Dive Rock
Band is performing a
show inspired by the Smashing Pumpkins
American band at Mundoloco Pub in San José. The
show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $16 at
the venue's box office.
The Pasión Argentina Tango show will be held in the National Auditorium, located within the Children's Museum facilities in San José. The presentation begins at 8 p.m. Tickets for $30 to $50 are available at the auditorium box office.
On Friday and Sunday
The
Guanacaste Province Township Orchestra
will perform two folk music
performances at the Mario Cañas
Ruiz Park
in Liberia Canton. Both free and pet-friendly
concerts start at 7 p.m.
On Saturday
The Rugby
Championship will be contested in the National Stadium in San José. The
Costa Rican Rugby Federation staged the
athletic event, which included
competitions between 20 teams. The
free-entry championship begins at 8
a.m.
The Mustang 65 Rock
Band,
is playing a rock music concert from
the 60s and 70s at the Republica
Restaurant
in Sabana Canton, San José. The
free show starts at 9
p.m.
Saturday and Sunday
The National Theater in San José will host the Beauty and the Beast ballet, based on a fairy tale published by French author Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve in 1740. On Saturday, the show begins at 8 p.m. There will be two shows on Sunday, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $80 and are available online or at the theater box office.

folk music concert at The Juan Santamaría
Museum in Alajuela. The
free concert starts at 5 p.m.
The Heredia Province Township Orchestra will give a folk music concert at the Nicolas Ulloa Central Park. The free and pet-friendly concert starts at 10 a.m.
This weekend
The Costa Rica
International Arts Fest (FNA2024),
organized by the Ministry of Culture,
will take place in Guanacaste
Province. Children's movies, plays,
concerts, dance performances,
cheerleading shows, and circus shows
will be among the events presented by
local and international artists. Among
the most anticipated performances is
the Seminole Vibes concert,
representing the College of Music of
Florida State University. The ensemble
will perform a concert on Saturday at
1 p.m. at the Civic Center
for Peace in Santa Cruz Canton.
On Sunday, the performance will begin
at 8 p.m. at the Coopeguanacaste
Convention Center
in Santa Cruz Canton. The Festival

free shows.
The "Andrómeda," art display by, Ileana Piszk-Kalina will take place at the National Gallery located in the Children’s Museum facilities in San José. The free event begins at 9 a.m. Reservations by calling 8722- 7322.
La Máscara Theater in downtown San José offers the comedy "A crazy family." On Friday and Saturday, the show begins at 8 p.m. On Sunday, the comedy starts at 6 p.m. Tickets for $15 are available at the theater's box office.
The Lucho Barahona Theater in downtown San José is now showing "The Mummy," a funny performance with the comedian characters Juan Vainas and Chibolo. The play, based on a Halloween story, seeks to answer the following question: what would you do if you discovered a sarcophagus buried in your backyard? Friday and Saturday, the performance starts at 8 p.m. Sunday's show begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the theater box office.
"Suegras Barbaras," or "Crazy Mothers-in-Law," is a comedy performance playing in the Triciclo Theater, in downtown San José. It is a comedy about a couple on vacation who, due to an unexpected circumstance, must travel with their mother-in-law. On Friday and Saturday, the show starts at 8 p.m. On Sunday, the comedy begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at the theater box office.
The comedy play "No Job, No Money" is playing at the Molière Theater in downtown San José. The comedy follows a group of friends who must go to crazy lengths to make ends meet. On Friday and Saturday, the show starts at 8 p.m. On Sunday, the comedy begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available at the theater box office.
Libertad Park Club in Desamparados in San José presents activities for teenagers such as painting, dance, music, sports and arts. The free and pet-friendly event begins at 9 a.m.
Children's
Museum in
downtown San José features special
activities for kids. The museum opens at
9 a.m. Tickets $3 are available
on the
museum's website.
Tours are
available at the
Wildlife Rescue Center in
Barrio San José District in Alajuela.
The animal sanctuary and wildlife
conservation center tours include
botanical gardens and more than 125
species of rescued animals including
sloths, monkeys, jaguars, tapir,
birds, and reptiles. They cannot be
released back to their natural
habitat. Tickets are $30 or $15 per
child available on the
center's website.
Tours are available at Kids Saving the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary in Quepos Beach, Puntarenas. The non-profit organization is home to nearly 50 animals that cannot be released back into the wild. Ticket is $10. Make reservations by emailing Chip@kstr.org or calling 8827-8243.
Experience
the arrival of sea turtles at Ostional
National Park in Guanacaste, beginning
at 6:30 a.m. with an expert guide
from the
Ostional Tourist Guides Association. Tour

Puntarenas City, Puntarenas. Doors

Free swimming, Zumba, aerobics, sports games, fitness and diving are among many other courses at Ojo de Agua Water Park in San Antonio Belen, Heredia. The club includes a parking area, restaurant, several swimming pools for adults and a swimming pool area for children, a playground, tennis areas, basketball areas and a soccer field. The place opens at 7:30 a.m. Ticket is $3.
Kalambu
Hot Springs Water Park in
La Fortuna, Alajuela, offers more than
10 aquatic activities and hot spring
pools. The park opens at 10 a.m.
Tickets are $8 or $13 including lunch.
Free for children under 4 years
old. Go ride
hopping at the Parque
de Diversiones in
La Uruca, San José. The amusement park
has more than 17 rides such as roller
coasters, carousels, twists and bumper
cars among many others. Enjoy their
food court zone and picnic area. The

visitors to both the Santa Rosa and
the Horizon Experimental
Forest Station in Guanacaste. Tickets

Diquis
Museum in
Palmar Sur, Osa, Puntarenas, offers
walking tours through the
archaeological zone known as Finca
Sitio 6. Tours are from 8 a.m. to 2

The Art
Museum in
downtown La Sabana, San José, presents
private collections of Latin American
artists. The museum is open from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticket is $15.
Gold Museum in downtown San José presents an exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Ticket is $15.
