activities are happening this weekend,
including concerts, plays, festivals,

On Friday
Heredia Symphonic Orchestra will perform a Paraguay music concert at the Inmaculada Concepcion Church in Heredia City. The free concert begins at 7 p.m.
The Municipality of Cartago band
will perform a folk music concert at
the Municipality
Amphitheater in Cartago City. The free
concert begins at 6:30 p.m. The Municipality of Puntarenas
band will perform a folk music
concert at the Toñino Obando High
School in El Roble Canton,
Puntarenas. The free
concert begins at 10 a.m.
 On Friday and Saturday
Expopyme 2024 Fair will be held at the Asociacion de Desarrollo San Vito facilities in Coto Brus Canton, in Puntarenas. The event is organized by the Ministry of Economy and features over 100 stands of jewelry, souvenirs, plants, apparel, and furniture, among other products. The free and pet-friendly event begins at 10 a.m.
 On Saturday
Heredia
Symphonic Orchestra will perform a

in San José. The program begins at 7
p.m. Tickets cost $16

The
National Music Education System
Orchestra will perform two folk music
concerts. The first program will be
held at the Civic Center of
Peace
in Santa Cruz Canton in Guanacaste
beginning at 2 p.m. Later, the concert
will be held at Coco Beach
at 5 p.m. Both concerts are free.
The
Chamber Music Band will perform at the
José Figueres
Ferrer Cultural and Historical
Center
in Alajuela City. The free concert begins at 2 p.m.
The
Peña Cultural Festival will be
held
in the Cartago City
Culture Center.
The event features live music and
traditional dances. The free admission festival begins
at 9 a.m.
The Stone Dive Rock
Band
will perform a music tribute show of
top American bands such as Nirvana,
Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, and
Alice In Chains among others.
The concert will start at 9 p.m. at
the London Room Pub in San José.
Tickets cost $16 and are available at
the venue's box office.
The Municipality of Alajuela band will perform a folk music concert at the Barrio Santiago Church in San Ramón Canton, Alajuela. The free show begins at 6 p.m.

National Symphonic Orchestra and Choir
plays alongside a cast of over 100
performers, including actors and
dancers. The show begins at 5 p.m. Tickets range from
$12 to $50 and are available at the
theater's box office or online.
The
National Dance Company celebrates its
45th anniversary with a dance program
directed by Grei Quezac, which will be
performed
in the Melico Salazar
Theater
in downtown San José. The event begins
at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
The

The Municipality of San José band will perform a folk music concert at the National Museum in downtown San José. The free concert begins at 11 a.m.

weekend
The Van Gogh Immersive Art Experience Show takes place in the Center for Science and Culture. The place is housed within the Children's Museum facilities in downtown San José. The performance combines hundreds of Van Gogh's masterpieces with cutting-edge technology and a musical soundtrack. The gallery's doors open at noon. Tickets are available for $12 at the museum's box office.
The Vargas Calvo Theater in downtown San José will feature the winning play of the Theater National Contest, "Erasmus". The plot revolves around an experienced actor who, with great effort, attempts to teach acting to his pupils. However, an unforeseen incident faces the characters with a plot twist. On Friday and Saturday, the play begins at 8 p.m. Sunday's show starts at 5 p.m. The National Theater sponsors the performance, and tickets are available for $10 at its box office.
Libertad Park Club in Desamparados in San José presents activities for teenagers such as painting, dance, music, sports and arts. The activities start at 9 a.m.
Children's Museum in downtown San José features special activities for kids. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Tickets $3 are available on the museum's website.
Tours are
available at the
Wildlife Rescue Center in
Barrio San José District in Alajuela.
The animal sanctuary and wildlife
conservation center tours include
botanical gardens and more than 125
species of rescued animals including
sloths, monkeys, jaguars, tapir,
birds, and reptiles. They cannot be
released back to their natural
habitat. Tickets are $30 or $15 per
child available on the
center's website.
Tours are available at Kids Saving the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary in Quepos Beach, Puntarenas. The non-profit organization is home to nearly 50 animals that cannot be released back into the wild. Ticket is $10. Make reservations by calling 8827-8243 or emailing Chip@kstr.org.
Experience
the arrival of sea turtles at Ostional
National Park in Guanacaste, beginning
at 6:30 a.m. with an expert guide
from the
Ostional Tourist Guides Association. Tour

Pirata Beach Club in
Puntarenas City, Puntarenas. Doors
open at 8 a.m. Ticket is $16.
Free swimming, Zumba, aerobics, sports games, fitness and diving are among many other courses at Ojo de Agua Water Park in San Antonio Belen, Heredia. The club includes a parking area, restaurant, several swimming pools for adults and a swimming pool area for children, a playground, tennis areas, basketball areas and a soccer field. The place opens at 7:30 a.m. Ticket is $3.
Kalambu
Hot Springs Water Park in
La Fortuna, Alajuela, offers more than
10 aquatic activities and hot spring
pools. The park opens at 10 a.m.
Tickets are $8 or $13 including lunch.
Free for children under 4 years old. Go ride
hopping at the Parque
de Diversiones in
La Uruca, San José. The amusement park
has more than 17 rides such as roller
coasters, carousels, twists and bumper
cars among many others. Enjoy their
food court zone and picnic area. The
park opens at 9 a.m. Ticket is $11.

Conservation Area invites
visitors to both the Santa Rosa and
the Horizon Experimental
Forest Station in Guanacaste. Tickets

Diquis
Museum in
Palmar Sur, Osa, Puntarenas, offers
walking tours through the
archaeological zone known as Finca
Sitio 6. Tours are from 8 a.m. to 2
p.m. Ticket is $7 and must be paid by

The Art
Museum in
downtown La Sabana, San José, presents
private collections of Latin American
artists. The museum is open from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gold Museum in downtown San José presents an exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Ticket is $15.
