On Friday and Saturday






The Ride Cultura Fest is rolling into the southern part of Puntarenas Province, and it’s gonna be a good time. Backed by the Ministry of Culture, this festival is packed with sports, music, art, and fun activities. Over 200 performers are showing up, actors, dancers, musicians, singers, you name it. Free admission and pet-friendly events are available on the Ministry of Culture’s website.








On Saturday






The "Verano Xtremo Show"(Extreme Summer) is going down at San Rafael Camacho Sports Field in Turrialba Canton, Cartago, and it’s gonna be off the charts. Get hyped for a night of adrenaline with wild jumps, intense competitions, and crazy stunts from top BMX riders, FMX motorcyclists, and QFMX ATV pros. The action kicks off at 8 p.m., and tickets run between $25 and $60. Snag yours at the stadium box office or hit up the Eticket website.




The Cartago Township Orchestra concert at Maria Auxiliadora Church in Cartago City. With free admission, the program starts at 5:30 p.m.









On Sunday



The Alajuela Township Orchestra takes the stage at Juan Santamaria Central Park in Alajuela City. With free admission and a pet-friendly atmosphere, the concert kicks off at 8 a.m.




The Guanacaste Township Orchestra offers a concert at San José Patriarca Church in Hojancha Canton, Guanacaste. With free admission, the concert begins at 8 a.m.




The Heredia Township Orchestra offers a concert at Heredia City Central Park, Heredia. The pet-friendly and free-admission concert begins at 9 a.m.










This Weekend




Don’t miss TNT Theater Britain’s captivating production of "Don Quixote," inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' timeless masterpiece, at the Expressivo Theater in San José. Part of TNT's Latin American tour, this adaptation features musical direction by Paul Flush and a talented team of Costa Rican actors. Catch the show on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., or Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office or online.





Enjoy the energy and heart of "In the Heights" at the Melico Salazar Theater in San José. Brought to life by the Luciérnaga theater company, this Tony Award-winning Broadway musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda tells the powerful story of Usnavi, a young Dominican man, and the dreams, struggles, and triumphs of the Washington Heights community in New York City. Catch one of three performances: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., or Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater box office or on the Special Ticket website








The ABBA Musical Show is hitting the stage at the Center for Science and Culture in San José. The show begins at 7 p.m. and brings all the 70s disco vibes, with live singers and pro dancers bringing the energy. Tickets are $50 and you can grab yours right at the Children's Museum box office or online.


 



Step right up to the Fuentes-Gasca Circus at the Oxigeno Mall in Heredia. The dazzling show is filled with excitement and wonder. Witness incredible trapeze artists, captivating music, lively dance, talented jugglers, hilarious clowns, and magical acts. Performances are held daily at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. Tickets are just $6 and can be purchased at the circus box office. Bring the whole family for an unforgettable circus experience.

Get ready for a night of laughs and surprises with "Trapped in an Elevator" at the Máscara Theater in San José. This comedy follows a group of strangers stuck in a tiny elevator during a power outage. As time ticks by, tensions rise, personalities clash, and just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, a twist shakes up everything.  Showtimes on Friday & Saturday at 8 p.m. On Sunday at 5 p.m.  Tickets are $20 at the theater box office.





The Torres Theater in San José is featuring the comedy play "Orgasms." The show takes a funny and honest look at the complexities of modern relationships. Showtimes: on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at the theater box office. The Moliere Theater in San José shows the comedy play "Papichulo" (Handsome Daddy). The story follows a thief who ends up in all kinds of crazy trouble while trying to rob a house full of women. Showtimes:  Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the theater box office.





Head to the Lucho Barahona Theater in San José for a hilarious comedy, "The Mummy," starring comedian characters Juan Vainas and Chibolo. Inspired by a spooky Halloween tale, the play dives into the fun question: What would you do if you found a sarcophagus buried right in your backyard? Take a thrilling journey back in time at the Children's Museum in San José with "Jurassic World Experience." The National Museum in downtown San José, presents an exhibition of Costa Rica's history and handmade artifacts, including some more than 12,000 years old, made by the first peoples of the region. Museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ticket is $11.









The Gold Museum in downtown San José presents an exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Ticket is $15.
