On Friday




History and culture come to life at the Juan Santamaría Museum in Alajuela! with the  Night at the Museum show. The evening includes theater performances, live music, and art exhibitions. Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or just looking for a unique night out, this event has something for everyone. The magic begins at 6 p.m. and the admission is completely free.




The Eugene O'Neill Theater in San José presents the  Melancolía Moderna concert featuring David Nick singer and Izmael Pacheco pianist. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets for $15 can be purchased at the theater box office or online.








On Friday and Saturday




The National Movie Center in San José invites you to experience the Canadian Films Festival. This special lineup features four captivating films: "Eviction" by Mathilde Caponeand, "Hotel Silence" by Léa Pool, "Boreal" by Robert Morin, and "Ababouiné" by André Forcie. Admission is completely free. Screenings take place at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. but keep in mind they’re exclusively for adults.











On Saturday



San José's Barrio Amon District transforms into a lively hub of culture, art, and entertainment for the Amón Cultural Fest. Sponsored by the Municipality of San José, this dynamic festival promises a full day of excitement, creativity, and community spirit. Stroll through art galleries, catch live music concerts, dance performances and outdoor theater performances. Satisfy your cravings at the food trucks, shop for unique souvenirs, and let the little ones have a blast at the kids' playground. The fun kicks off at 10 a.m., and best of all it’s free and pet-friendly.





The Eugene O'Neill Theater in San José is showcasing the Arrecife Urbano guitars concert. The show kicks off at 8 p.m. Tickets from $15 to $20 can be purchased at the theater box office or online.


 





On Saturday and Sunday




The Food Truck Fest
is happening at the Sabana Metropolitan Park in San José! Organized by the Municipality of San José, this pet-friendly event is free to enter and packed with delicious options from over 40 food trucks. Expect a variety of eats and drinks for sale, plus cultural events, traditional dances, live music, a picnic area, a kids’ playground, and a special space for pets. The free admission fun starts at 11 a.m. each day.

The Torres Theater in San José is featuring the comedy play "Orgasms." The show takes a funny and honest look at the complexities of modern relationships. The National Museum in downtown San José, presents an exhibition of Costa Rica's history and handmade artifacts, including some more than 12,000 years old, made by the first peoples of the region. Museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ticket is $11.









The Gold Museum in downtown San José presents an exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Ticket is $15.
