On Friday

Ink Fest is taking over the National Convention Center in Heredia. With more than 50 top tattoo artists, a live tattoo showcase, video games, and music, it’s a must for ink lovers. The event starts at 10 a.m., and tickets are $10 grab yours at the venue box office.

The National Symphony Orchestra is offering a classical concert featuring music by Bedřich, Dvořák, and Rachmaninoff at the National Theater in San José. Friday’s show kicks off at 8 p.m., and Sunday’s is at 10:30 a.m. Tickets start at just $10, and you can grab them online or right at the theater box office.

The National Movie Center in San José presents Canadian Films Festival film screenings "Brother" (2022) by Clement Virgo and "Cette Maison" (2022) by Miryam Charles.  The free-entrance movies begin at 7 p.m. and are strictly for adults.

On Saturday

The Spanish Culture Festival, hosted by the Municipality of San José, is happening at the National Park in downtown San José. Expect delicious Spanish food, lively dance performances, and great music. The fun kicks off at 10 a.m., and best of all, it’s free and pet-friendly, so bring your furry friends along!

The National Institute of Music is hosting a classical music concert at the National Theater in San José. The performance starts at 10:30 a.m., and the best part? Tickets are free! Just swing by the theater box office to grab yours.

 

This Weekend

The Vargas Calvo Theater in San José is staging "Infierno," a drama by Aylin Morera, winner of the National Unpublished Playwriting Competition of the National Theater. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the show begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $16 and can be picked up at the theater box office or online.

The Rock & BBQ Festival is taking place at the Río Campo Events Center in Alajuela. If you love killer rock music and mouthwatering BBQ, this is the place to be. Enjoy back-to-back performances from bands like Master Class, Mustang 65, Carters, Ed Quesada, Rodrigo Lagunas, Kurt Dyer, Diesel, Dirty Jack, and Liverpool among others. The Wine Fest is happening at the Nebula Center in Aurora in Heredia. Sip and savor tastings from over 150 wine brands while enjoying live music and delicious food samples. The event kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, it starts at noon. Tickets start at $10 available on the Starticket website.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater in San José is showcasing the thrilling drama "Death Trap," about a playwright on the hunt for his next big hit who stumbles upon a manuscript that could change everything. The show kicks off at 7 p.m. on Friday, with two performances on Saturday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday’s show starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are $24 and can be purchased at the theater box office or online.

Step right up to the "Fuentes-Gasca Circus" at the Fair Ground next to Maxipali supermarket in the San Francisco District in Cartago. The dazzling show is filled with excitement and wonder.
