The electricity rate
will decrease in 2021 By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Some 715,000 users, in addition to 92,000 companies and 4,000 industries, will receive a reduction of 14% in the cost of the electric service provided by the Electricity Institute, ICE, as of Jan. 1, 2021. The Regulatory Authority of Public Services, ARESEP, confirms the reduction in the cost of electricity, after having made a technical analysis of the formula fees used by the institute. The electricity fee discount will help relieve the economic impact on people's expenses caused by the covid-19 pandemic, ARESEP said in its statement. The cost decreases are in response to a review of the method used by the institute to calculate electricity rates, such as reductions in engineering and construction expenses. According to ARESEP, the reduction will also benefit users who pay for electricity to other companies that buy or distribute the power produced by the institute. -------------------------- Is the cost of electricity service more expensive in your country than in Costa Rica?
