Social
Security announced a new healthcare
campaign to be held this week in
Cartago Province. The
medical services will be provided from
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Tuesday to
Thursday, at the William
Allen-Taylor Public Hospital
in Cartago City. The
healthcare campaign will also take
place at public clinics (known as
Ebais) in the cantons of Paraiso,
Cervantes, Turrialba, Jimenez, San
Juan, San Diego, Concepcion, Oreamuno,
Tierra Blanca, and Pacayas. Doctors
will provide eye tests, laboratory
tests, dental care, vaccines,
electrocardiograms, cholecystectomies,
orthopedics, general medical services
and pap smears among other medical
services.
Additionally,
patients will
receive their
meds on the
same day. The public
hospital and
clinics'
staff aim to
serve at least
3,000 patients
from the
province. They will
contact
patients based
on the
information
they provided
during
registration
to arrange
medical
consultations. Residents of
these zones,
including
foreign
residents with
DIMEX cards,
may learn more
about the
medical
campaign by
visiting the
Cartago
Hospital or
their local
public
clinic's front
desk. This is one
of several
large-scale
medical care
programs
conducted by
Social
Security. Recently,
they launched
a healthcare
campaign in
Puntarenas. The Social
Security
(CCSS) is the
state-owned
organization
in charge of
the country's
public health
sector.
