The XVII National Festival of the Arts (FNA2024) will take place from November 11 to December 8, 2024, announced by the Ministry of Culture.

According to officials, this year's cultural festivities will feature over 1,000 artists performing in Guanacaste from November 8 to 17, followed by San José from December 4 to 8.

Guanacaste's designated festival host cantons include Santa Cruz, Nicoya, Cañas, and Liberia.

The event will take place at many venues in downtown San José, including the National Theater, Antigua Aduana Cultural Complex, Alberto Cañas Escalante Theater, Dance Theater, Culture National Center, Children Museum, and Democracy Square.

Children's movies, plays, concerts, dance performances, cheerleading shows, and circus shows will be among the events presented by the artists. Each night will end with a fireworks show.

"This edition of the National Arts Festival allows us to show the talent of more than 1,000 artists from all over the country and invited nations, with creative and artistic proposals to cherish our cultural diversity," noted the organizers.

All creative presentations will focus on subjects such as cultural heritage preservation, environmental conservation, and indigenous traditions, among other topics.

The entire schedule of shows, which will be free for people of all ages,  will be revealed shortly.
