Beginning this week, tolls on Route 27 between the provinces of San José and Puntarenas were reduced.

Global Via Route 27 Company, the firm in charge of managing route toll fees, says the reduction is the consequence of a quarterly adjustment based on a drop in the dollar exchange rate.

This decrease applies to all vehicles at toll stations in San José's cantons of Escazú and Ciudad Colón. In Alajuela's cantons of San Rafael, Guácima, Atenas, Coyol and Pozon.

Light vehicle fees range from ¢410 ($0.78) and ¢630 colones ($1.21). The fees for large trucks range from ¢1,030 ($2) to ¢1,560 ($3).  The company's website contains a detailed list of fees for each vehicle type.

In August, the Public Services Regulatory Authority (Aresep),  which is the State-owned agency in charge of setting the price of public services and products, authorized a modification in gasoline prices.
