Costa Rica may be impacted by the 29th tropical wave of the green season. On Tuesday, the storm was crossing Venezuela's Pacific Coast. The National Institute of Meteorology predicts it will likely pass across Costa Rica on Thursday. The country might experience even heavier rainfall on Thursday, Sept. 5, which will extend 24 hours until Friday, Sept. 6. The weather outlook might improve by Saturday, Sept. 7. Furthermore, rain has increased as the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ICZ) spans from the Central American Pacific Coast and extends into the Caribbean Coast. Known as the doldrums or the calms, it occurs when the northeast and southeast trade winds converge, resulting in a lack of breeze.
Showers may continue between 30 and 60 mm in the provinces of San José, Alajuela, Heredia and Cartago. In the Caribbean Coast (Limón Province), rains are expected to range between 25 and 50 mm.
