According to the Kábata Könana Talamanca Cabécar Women's Association, which is in charge of organizing the sports tournaments, the activity is accessible to the public and celebrates indigenous sports while also promoting respect for the traditions, culture, and history of the region's earliest inhabitants. The
sporting events will take place at Talamanca's Gavilán
Canta village, with
athletes, indigenous leaders, sports
associations, and members of the
country's many indigenous peoples all
participating.
