The third edition of Costa Rica's Indigenous Peoples' Sports and Ancestral Games will be held from April 26 to 28 in Talamanca Canton, Limón Province.

According to the Kábata Könana Talamanca Cabécar Women's Association, which is in charge of organizing the sports tournaments, the activity is accessible to the public and celebrates indigenous sports while also promoting respect for the traditions, culture, and history of the region's earliest inhabitants.

The sporting events will take place at Talamanca's Gavilán Canta village, with athletes, indigenous leaders, sports associations, and members of the country's many indigenous peoples all participating.

The sports include bow and arrow shooting, log races, speed competitions, open water swimming, racing, and boat rowing.

In addition to enjoying sporting activities, attendees will get the opportunity to learn about the culture of the country's indigenous peoples through dances, ceremonies and music.

The organizers have set up a phone number 8877-0228 and an email address for individuals who want to attend the games and need transportation or housing.
