The Ministry of
Culture's Concert Bands are hosting
special Mother's Day concerts around the country.
Costa Rica
celebrates Mother's Day, or Día
de la Madre, on August 15th every year. It is
a day to celebrate and appreciate moms
and mother figures for their love.
The shows will
feature a combination of folk and
popular music.
Everyone is
welcome to attend the free concerts given from August 8 to August 29.
In Guanacaste, the
concert will be held on Thursday, August 9, at Colegio San Ambrosio in Nicoya Canton, at 9 a.m.
The band will give
more concerts on August 11 at 6:45 p.m. and
on August 18 at 7 p.m. at Upala Canton Central
Park.
Additional concerts are scheduled for August 25 at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church of Fortuna in Bagaces Canton. Later, on August 29 at 2:30 p.m. at Colegio de Cuajiniquil in La Cruz Canton.
In Cartago, the
concert will be held on August 9 at 6:30
p.m. at the Cartago Municipal
Amphitheater. Reservations can be made through the municipal website.
In San José, the
show will take place on August 18 at 11
a.m. at Cedros Community Hall. The second concert
will be held on August 25 at 11 a.m. at
the National Museum.
In Alajuela, the
concert will be held on August 18 at 10
a.m., at the Alajuela City
Central Park.
In Heredia, the
concert is set to be held on
August 18 at 10 a.m. at the Nicolás Ulloa
Central Park.
In Limón, the show
will take place on August 13 at 7:30
p.m. at Limón’s House of
Culture. Later, on August 14 at 11:30 a.m., the
band will offer a concert at the Don Samuel
Shopping Center.
