The
winner
of the
Mother's Day $1.2 million jackpot was
the number 49 with the serial number
282, announced the Social Protection
Board, which manages the lottery in
Costa Rica. The
lottery draw was
held
on Sunday, August 18, at 7 p.m.
The
game was
televised
by the State-owned channel 13 and
live-streamed on the Board's YouTube
channel.
The
lottery tickets printed by the Board
are two identical sets of ten tickets
each.
The
$1.2 million jackpot went to the lucky
person who bought the two sets with
the winning number 49 and serial
number 282.
The
payout for a winning ticket is around
$61,000. The
lottery gave a second reward of about
$176,000 for two sets or $8,800 for
each ticket with the winning number 74
and serial number 306. The
third prize is about $76,000 for two
sets, or $3,800 per ticket, for the
winning number 77 and serial number
096.
The game included
an extra lottery draw for one additional
jackpot called "acumulado" or prize pool. This is an additional
game with extra prizes ranging
from $3,000 to $2.6 million. The last night bonus
was about $5,700 for two sets, or $280
per ticket, with the winning number 60
and serial number 603.
More than 100
additional prizes were distributed, ranging from $4
to $1,000 per ticket. To qualify for an
extra incentive, the ticket must
have the winner's number and serial.
The list of winners
for the additional prize tickets may
be viewed on the Board's
website.
All prizes will be paid immediately and
without taxes at the lottery
headquarters in downtown San
José or any Banco de Costa Rica branch
in the country.
According to the
Board, funds collected for the sale of
the lottery will be part of the donations programs to other
social aid organizations, as well as distributing commissions to
lottery vendors.
