The "Forever
Green" edition
of Costa Rica Fashion Week will run from
August 21 to August 24.
According
to the organizers, the event will take
place in various locations in downtown San
José and headquartered in Antigua
Aduana.
The
event's
purpose is to promote the most recent
sustainable and modern fashion trends in
Costa Rica. It
also attempts to strike a balance between
fashion and environmental responsibility,
noted the event's
organizers.
"We
are proud to be the country's
leading fashion platform," stated
Karina Díaz, Fashion Week director. "We
are seeking to increase sustainability in
a sector known for its environmental
impact."
National designers for this edition include Jenssie Chacón, Dana Vindas, Elías Zúñiga, Stefanny Baldí, Roberta Calderón, Nolys Rodríguez, Stephanie Valverde, Kevin Rojas, Alaia Bogantes, and Gabriel Loría.
On August 21, the
inaugural ceremony will highlight new
designers. There will also be an
educational event called Costa Rica
Fashion Talks, where fashion experts
will provide free public workshops.
Throughout the
rest of the week, Costa Rican
entrepreneurs and fashion enterprises
will display their products and artwork
at the Fashion Market.
The event is free,
and tickets are available through the
Star Tickets website. A tree will be
planted for every ticket reservation.
After the main
event, the designers' creations will be
shown in the U.S.-Costa Rica
Cultural Center in San José's Los Yoses
district.
