The traditional Christmas Festival
will take place on Friday, November 29 at the Children's Museum in San José. The free entry events kick off at
1 p.m. with games, dance shows, and
band concerts. The festivities will continue with
a Christmas Musical Show in the
evening. The cherry on top is the
much-anticipated Christmas Light
Show, which begins at 7 p.m. The traffic police have announced
that they expect thousands of
families to attend the event, therefore they will block roads around the
museum to ensure pedestrian safety.
Police will close the road between the Bank of Costa Rica building on 2nd Ave. and 4th St., leading to the Children's Museum. Officers warn parents to keep near to their children, and while the road has been closed to cars, people may only use the sidewalks. They also advise parents to make sure their children are wearing fluorescent clothing and not ignoring traffic officials' orders. Police encourage festival attendees to avoid driving due to traffic restrictions and instead use a cab, train, or bus. Those who park in prohibited zones will face sanctions, they said. The event will be broadcast live on local channels 6, 7, 8, and 13 beginning at 7 p.m.
