May 30 is the new deadline for filing the report ”Registro de Transparencia y Beneficiarios Finales”, transparency and final beneficiaries register, also known as RTFB.

However, the RTFB report will be generated automatically each year, in the case of those first submitted in 2020. Companies that have already made the report must update their information or make corrections on the previous report if any data has changed in 2021.

If there have not been changes on the information reported in 2020, it will only be requested for verification through the Central Bank of Costa Rica platform.

The RTBF report must be made by the owner, whoever has representation in a company, or an authorized person who has a power of attorney duly registered by a notary public on the bank platform.

More information about this report can be found at the Ministry of Finance website by clicking under the “RTBF” tab.

In September 2020, A.M. Costa Rica posted the article “Positive legal and tax news for a change!'' by Garland Baker, which provided more detailed information about the report.
