Costa
Rica is preparing for its ninth cold
front of the season, which is
expected
to bring colder
temperatures, rain, and strong winds
this week,
according to the Weather Institute. A
cold front typically marks the
boundary between a cooler
air mass and a warmer one, often
leading to sharp temperature drops,
strong winds, and thunderstorms as it
moves through the region.
It is forecast to impact Costa Rica from
Thursday, Jan. 23, through Saturday,
Jan. 25. Weather conditions are expected
to improve by Sunday, Jan. 26. Severe
wind gusts between 30 and 62 mph,
along with
temperatures dropping from 70°F to as
low as 30°F,
are
predicted, particularly in
high-altitude areas such as Chirripó
Mountain and Turrialba Volcano.
